Knew a dood, he bought from lennar in a PUD.
Paid a nice premium for 0.25 acre, pie-shaped, biggest on front of property line, narrowed at back.
lennar and city and FPL put three cluster mailboxes, a fire hydrant and a big green box, 6' X 6' X 6', in his front yard.
Sucked for him, and got worse when low-end neighbors would throw their junk mail on the sidewalk, which would eventually end up in his yard.

Yup...it's ****ing HOT in Texas!

4/30: Just moved to San Antonio. OK...Now this is a city that knows how to live!! Beautiful sunny days and warm balmy evenings. What a place! Watched the sunset from a park lying on a blanket. It was beautiful. I've finally found my home. I love it here.

5/14: Really heating up. Got to 100F today. Not a problem. Live in an air-conditioned home, drive an air-conditioned car. What a pleasure to see the sun everyday like this. I'm turning into a sun worshiper.

5/30: Had the backyard landscaped with western plants today. Lots of cactus and rocks. What a breeze to maintain. No more mowing for me. Another scorcher today, but I love it here.

6/10: The temperature hasn't been below 100 all week. How do people get used to this kind of heat? At least it's kind of windy though. But getting used to the heat and humidity is taking longer that I expected.

6/15: Fell asleep by the pool. (Got 3rd degree burns over 60% of my body.) Missed 2 days of work, what a dumb thing to do. I learned my lesson though. Got to respect the ol' sun in a climate like this.

6/20: I missed Morgan (our cat) sneaking into the car when I left this morning. By the time I got to the hot car for lunch, Morgan had swollen up to the size of a shopping bag and exploded all over the leather upholstery. I told the kids that she ran away. The car now smells like Kibbles and SHITS. No more pets in this heat.

6/25: The wind sucks. It feels like a giant freaking blow dryer!! And it's hot as hell. The home air-conditioner is on the fritz and the AC repairman charged $200 just to drive by and tell me he needed to order parts.

6/30: Been sleeping outside by the pool for 3 nights now. $2,500 in damn house payments and we can't even go inside. Why did I ever come here?

7/4: Happy 4th of July! It's 110F degrees. Finally got the air-conditioner fixed today. It cost $500 and gets the temperature down a little, but this freaking humidity makes the house feel like it's about 90. Stupid repairman pissed in my pool.

7/8: If another wise ass cracks, "Hot enough for you today ?", I'm going to tear his throat out. Damn heat. By the time I get to work the radiator is boiling over, my clothes are soaking wet, and I smell like a dead cat!!

7/9: Tried to run some errands after work. Wore shorts, and sat on the black leather seats in the ol' car. I thought my ass was on fire. I lost 2 layers of flesh and all the hair on the back of my legs and ass. Now my car smells like burnt ass and fried cat.

7/10: The weather report might as well be a damn recording. Hot and sunny. Hot and sunny. It's been too hot to do shit for 2 damn months and the weatherman says it might really warm up next week. Doesn't it ever rain in this barren damn desert?? Water rationing will be next, so $1700 worth of cactus just might dry up and blow into the damn pool. Even the cactus can't live in this heat.

7/14: Welcome to HELL!!! Temperature got to 113F today. Forgot to crack the window and blew the damn windshield out of the car. The installer came to fix it and said, "Hot enough for you today?" My wife had to spend the $1500 house payment to bail me out of jail.
**** me...and it's only July!

It's currently a balmy 112* here in Las Vegas. And yes a dry heat. 4% humidity now.

Wow. I didn't know the RH could even get that low.

It's 78 here now with a RH of 69%, pretty muggy, storms coming tonight.

But sitting on the porch in my swimming trunks, nursing a gin and tonic, life is good.

Yeah it's hot right now, but we have plenty of AC.

Besides, in January when you are up to your asshole in snow we'll be at 70.

Some people enjoy the change of seasons -- like my dad did.

Up here we're mostly indoors for several months during the winter, down south they're mostly indoors for several months during the summer.

Tons of outdoor stuff to do here if one is so inclined. With adequate clothing, one can be comfortable no matter how cold it is. But when it's hot, there is no clothing to cool you off.

Deerflies are the most miserable insects here. They disappear around the middle of August and what a relief, won't be back til next June. Pretty much half the year is free of any annoying insects.

Most of the people who bitch about northern winters don't even live here.

I enjoyed the 11 years that I lived in Onondaga County. Lots of great folks. My reasons for moving:

1. State politics.
2. Real estate taxes.
3. Shitty schools

We had no bugs where I lived in Pompey. 1100 feet above Syracuse. I never even saw a mosquito. No deer flies.

No problem with the agressive weather. I could nordic ski out of my front door. Alpine skiing 20 minutes from my house. I had plans for a rope tow from my barn, down past my neighbor Chuck's backyard, and down my other neighbor's corn field to his frog pond.

My driveway did suck during the winter. It went north-south, and the prevailing winds were from the west. My snow thrower would cut a trench, and the trench would drift over within an hour. A few inches of snow on the corn field would drift into the trench over and over for several days.
