Actually, corvettemechanic.com is pretty good for tech info. A site run by actual GM certified Corvette mechanics.

That's true... it is a good site... C4C5Specialist used to be the freakin' man at answering tough questions.

I think this site, although new...has the potential to get a lot of quality Tech info posted.

Really, all it takes is people to present their troubles and ask!
This is a very experienced crowd here for the most part, and if we don't have the immediate answer, we do know where to look to get it (usually at places other than CF).

I find my time at CF is more spent correcting bs that's been posted by others, and that is the inherent flaw in the system....Lots of information on the database there, but figuring out what's bs and what is good info becomes the challenge.

I got a 30 ban about a year ago in PR&C, but I still had full access and posted. I just stayed out of PR&C for that time, and pretty much ever since. Since apparently their version of "controversy" and mine don't exactly match. Haven't been back in a couple days to see if my latest attempt earned me a vacation.

It will take time, but folks will get tired of CF BS and will search Google for solutions then they will find this site. We need to post more tech stuff here to increase the Google hits. I still use CF, a lot of great information there and a huge Vette experience base.

It's been a while since I served my time on the sideline. Can't remember the length of time but I do recall telling a member there that" he had his head so far up his a$$ that it would take a team of proctologists to remove it" or something along that line.

I went from being a moderator in the morning to being permabanned at night. That has to be a record.

After tuk and I realized that our stalker was essentially being afforded protection by proxy from Jim and Jesse, I sent an Email to both saying that I could not, in good conscience, remain a moderator and that I would not be returning to CF (the text of the Email was published, by the way, in another forum for all to see). Tuk also sent an Email of her own saying basically the same thing. Jim, ever the bastion of fairness, Emailed me back and said that "per CF policy, since I said I won't be returning, he would deactivate my account." This is a polite way of permabanning someone. Interestingly, tuk did not face the same penalty as her account remains active to this day even though she also said she would no longer be posting there.

For those of you saying "Huh????" to yourselves, "CF policy" is Jim or Jesse's way of saying "we don't have a rule for this, but this person really pissed us off and/or made us look bad, so...we'll show him and make up a rule on the fly."

I have no problem with people who aren't astute enough to be able to rationalize right from wrong or those who don't have the stones to do the right thing. But if you are one of those people, do us all a favor by not doing anything that involves interaction with the public at large. The world will be a happier place for it.

Eh, some whiney hineys have gotten me banned from time to time.

Pretty much all worth it.

And like Bucky, I've taken my own vacations a few times when the bad outweighed the fun.

The funniest was GDaina, though. Omg....he went off on several of us in regards to the 2nd cat thread. It was seriously deranged! Then he banned us when we posted that he was writing us crazy PMs.

Unlike alot of folks here, though, I'm actually friends with the mods, excepting one.

But I'm CLOSER friends with the banned CF mod who is now a mod here.
