Thanks mods for the number I chose! "5150" You know, slightly out of balance, and a little over the top! Good VH album, too. I always heard that was the police code for "escapee from a mental asylum". Anyone know if that's right?

It's a section in CA law used to involuntarily hold an individual deemed to be a danger to himself or others. In FL, we have a law along these lines called the Baker Act. Most states have something similar.

I can't really give you much detail on the subject because I am not a CA LEO.

I looked it up on Wiki last night. You are correct! The Urban Dictionary says it means "crazy one on the loose." Works for me!

Ohio has similar law. In Columbus, we just fill out a "pink slip."
