now, if i had a belt sander, like this:

JET 16-32 Plus 20 amp Service with 608003 Stand - Rockler Woodworking Tools

that would save some time, but for now, by hand.
I got a picture of the one we have at work.

The belt is 6" wide and the table will sand a piece 36" wide by 96" long. They purchased this machine to finish obelisks made out of stainless steel.

if it stops serving you well, i could be talked into taking it off your hands... my budget is that i'll pick it up...if it will fit in my truck.

nice piece.

Overall length is probably about 11' So it could fit in a full size pick up.

But since I'm on the eastern end of PA, I don't think it would be a good value ( plus it's not for sale )

Cute, in that I made some 1500 bux for wacking some 2" angle aluminum about 50 billion times on precise length and angle....to make about 50? decorative pyramid lights for a development here in Jax....brazzilionaire houses....

about 3' on bottom and 8 stacks going up top...followed arky teck bluprints .....

my welder buddy did the hard work....I did the dummy work...paid fairly well....

only took a week, I did the wacking he did the tacking....

tolerence was within a 1/16th or so on lengths....

material delivery was funny, this truck pulls up with a fork lift.....

and so it was shake and prance for a while.....

No 8' bed? a few 2 x 10's and some plywood to "extend" the floor

The s/s obelisks ar 8" square at the base, tapering to 4" square towards the top with a pyramid on the top. They are 60" tap. Engraved on one side UNITED STATES and on the other side is CANADA. The stainless is polished and the 5/16" wide engraving is painted black.

They're border markers for up north
