It seems policing agencies train their people to be scared as shit of everything, and this is a predictable result. I don't remember this kind of stuff when I was growing up, although, back then we didn't have body worn cameras or the internet, so maybe it was happening just as often, but nobody knew about it.

Houston cops mag dumped on a couple of women who had locked themselves out of their apartment, so they broke a window to get in. Neighbor reported a break in (how do you not at least RECOGNIZE the person who lives near you), police responded, one of the women apparently was holding a gun.

So anyway, they started blasting.

In my opinion, it's BECAUSE of viral videos and the internet we're at the level of insanity we are now. If we didn't have internet, cell phones, cameras, etc. none of the riots, school shootings, flash-mob robberies, street takeovers, etc. would even be happening. And now we've got AI to make our lives 'easier'. God help us.

It's a wonder nobody was injured or killed. They might still find a body later on. If a bullet pinged me through the wall right now I suspect it'd be at least a month before anyone figured it out.

The really sad part is if he wasn't wearing a badge he'd be behind bars awaiting prosecution for a list felonies and getting a psychological evaluation but this lethal hazard to the community gets to remain at large. That's a big WTF.
