I would try to wipe out the Japanese fleet with no warning in a way to make them just disappear. Make Japan wonder what happened.

If they splash the zeros, America never goes into WWII. An isolationist America would have continued, until Roosevelt found a way to get the US involved via the UK in Europe.

Japan, not knowing what happened to the zeros, because they are so beholden to authority, would probably not attack the US. They would attack local islands such as Singapore, Hong Kong, and continue their rape of Nanking.

America would rate the Japanese a threat, but not an immediate one.

Australia, left alone, would come under Japanese threat. America would bluster, but would accept it.

If December 7th hadn’t happened....2000 sailors sacrificed to make the world as it is today.

The only reason I would let Japan attack Pearl is so America wakes up and becomes what it became. I would want to make some changes as soon as America has fully entered the war.

I agree but remember, you have the Nimitz and all it's firepower. You also have proof of history.
