I got to be on the receiving end of client "schmooze" at Bern's...it was awesome. It was there that I learned my favorite cut is the chateaubriand. There was a beef tartare appetizer, and vichyssoise, and a $1400 bottle of Joseph Phelps cabriolet. I'm not a wine guy, but it was really good as you might imagine. There were seven of us and I'm sure the bill that night was North of $3K.

I wouldn't buy myself a meal like that, but it was pretty great having someone else do it...

I made filet last night, too...just something about not having to cook it all makes it taste a little better!

Congrats to your BIL and happy birthday to your daughter!

10 out of 10.
Get out towards El Paso and hit up Cattleman's Ranch. Great steak house and was also a movie set for a lot of old western flicks.

My butcher ages it. I let him know what I want and when I need it about a month in advance and he has it ready for me.

The next time I go to Houston, I'll try to stop in at Houston's. Another great steak house.

Now go to Killen's Steakhouse and order a filet mignon.

Also, get the $30 crab cake appetizer. Really.

Probably the best meal I’ve ever had (of and over many Michelin Resturant’s) was Charlie Trotters chef table in Chicago. At the time best in World. I attended and thank god did not buy.

Previous time I was there was kitchen “studio” for a party where boss stuck me w a bill that I’ve could of bought my first house with monies

RIP Charlie - a real cool guy
