I have a cigar box full of old coins from my folks house yet, accumulated through the 50's-60's yet, that site shows Franklin 50c coins at 125 bux each, but no mention of condition, well I have a stack of them in various condition....18 of them in pretty clean condition, I would say......bet a coin dealer offers maybe 600 bux but I can always call, I even have a few liberty dimes.....and rolls of quarters.....only thing I went through is the 50 cent pieces.....I have a bunch of old silver dollars........hummmm.....

For awhile after they first came out, they were worth a quarter....at least
they so closely resembled a quarter, I spent them as quarters...and no one
corrected me! A closer inspection one day caused me to just put them in a can.
Got at least a couple hundred now..

Problem with collecting coins, and the reason I dropped out of the hobby years ago is, for the same coin:
Brilliant Uncirculated 70 = $$$$$$$$$$$
Brilliant Uncirculated 69 = $$$$$$$$$
Brilliant Uncirculated 67 = $$$$$$$
Brilliant Uncirculated 65 = $$$$$
Brilliant Uncirculated 63 = $$$
Brilliant Uncirculated 60 = $$ (Actually the upper grades are broken down into 11 grades from 70 to 60, I skipped a few)
Almost Uncirculated or less = $ or less (down to face value)

The grading of high-end coins is so technical that you have to go by what others say, like the grading companies (which you pay through the nose to use). You can no longer do it on your own. And dealers always sell at higher grade and buy at lower grade for the same coin.

I can get 25 cents for just a 1 peso coin in the US.

They work nicely in airport payphones and vending machines..

Same problem with saving unused postage stamps, they are only worth face value unless you are lucky enough to find someone who wants them for more.

I use to have quite a few saved up, but ended up using them all to ship ebay sales stuff to get my money back

Funny but true story about them.....early 80's I working as a field tech rep for a walk through metal detector company....and one of our high sense units was installed to find the thieving employees of the US FED RESERVE BANK Maiden Lant, NYC next door to Wall St.....

it was a fun trip....I forget which airport....but just east off the river, so cabby drove south along the river with high rises on my right, water to the left.... and so at ~730 AM I spot this stupid but RICH Lonk Ilant woman in a full length EXPENSIVE fur coat....with a diamond studded leash and some stupid small dawg on it, and in her right hand was this shit bag and a shovel....I just cracked UP, and the cabby was curious , So I explained about that scene, he said they had to pick up their dawg shit....

SO the thing is, this stupid woman is out there in the COLD winter time living in a shit stream, and walking her dawg at dark thirty in the AM, and picking up shit......CASE CLOSED for idiots, gotta know they support Hitlery.....

but at any rate the trip with highly amusing for various technical reasons....the theft rate of the SB Anthony coins was very high, so they had about ALL of them ever minted in stock at the FED Reserve NYC.....

they lost several million bux worth by time they noticed and WE had the most stable detectors on the market so they wanted OUR gear, same as others, prisons/jails/jewelry makers/stores....be amazed

one thing I found funny, at late as '84? there were two plugs for every 'outlet' one was clearly marked BLUE, that was AC power from ConED.....the other was RED, which Fed Reserve still had DC powered gear that used to be powered by DC current supplied by EDISON Electric....and so they still ran their own generators off STEAM supplied by CON ED......go figger......

I've been looking and saving all the Wisconsin coins I get. Have not found one with the extra leaf!

It's worth 77 percent of what a male embossed Dollar coin gets, so $ .77.
