Wow, that's a horrible way to go. She was really screwed. Even if she had something she could improvise to damage the refrigeration unit, it's a well insulated cooler, it would have kept that sub zero temperature long enough to kill her anyway. I imagine her running to the door, slamming into it repeatedly, in an attempt to bust it open, only to come to the realization that she couldn't open it, and she was going to die shortly.

Horrible, horrible. I can't even think of anything clever to quip about this.

Notice the part where Arby's and the franchiser deny any wrongdoing. Maybe push the blame off on the fridge maker. Routine maintenance and safety check maybe would be the fault of the franchiser, who might in turn blame the dead store manager as that was one of her tasks. Even if she broke some SOP about not being in there alone or failed to prop the door if that was their practice (hard to believe no one had to open from the inside during normal business hours to discover the inside knob was defective), it would suck if all sides put 100% on her. Maybe they're doing corporate speak to escape criminal liability but will dole it out civilly.

I think even a half-ass lawyer would beat the franchise, the store owner and the equipment maker in court.
No effing way does any of those three want a jury to listen to the specifics of her death, taking a few hours.

I worked in a lot of grocery store freezers in my youth and none of them would lock you in; they were explicitly designed so that that would not happen - I'm not getting it.
