I live 12 miles from Orlando and feel the pain. My area used to be quaint 2 lane country roads with tractors and farm equipment being the big obstacles. Now, the urbanization has created a snarl of traffic and morons with their Bro Dozers 5' in the air trying to run you over, morons in their little econboxes weaving in and out like its a racetrack and still have the occasional "blue hair" doing 35 in a 55 mph zone.

And my personal favorite the "new citizens" that have only been driving a week since crossing the border with no license, no insurance but still hauling a trailer full of leaf blowers.

Driving has ALWAYS been VERY painful, and getting MUCH worse.

Most drivers suck, know nothing, do not understand right of way--nor do they understand that NOT knowing right of way can cause accidents as the rules of traffic are ignored.

I believe the greatet factor in the decline is that more and more drivers know jackshit, and of the jackshit drivers most are on their phones 24/7/365.

I could teach these aholes how to drive properly and efficiently, BUT they cannot afford me!!

I think that, especially in very blue states like NY and NJ (where I do a shit load of my driving), the illegal immigrant problem is having an impact. The state governments HAVE to give illegals driver's licenses for some liberal reason (meaning, not understandable to anyone with a functioning brain), regardless of whether they can speak English, or are illiterate. You can't pass the written part of the exam if you are illiterate, but they give these folks licenses anyway. Stupid.

The illegals have it very good:

1) get DL without having to pass the exam
2) do not need auto insurance to get plates
3) cannot be located for court dates after an accident

Once they get a drivers license and pay a utility bill then they can register to vote, duh. And they will vote for the Party that let them in. This should not be a surprise to anyone.

The I95 through VA is the problem. 50 miles into DC/Maryland, and 50 miles into NC are all affected by the idiots in VA. They drive bumper to bumper at 70 mph and then when one person in Northern VA touches their brakes for whatever reason, the accordion affect reaches all the way back into NC. Makes ZERO SENSE but it happens that way. I'd rather drive AROUND VA then drive through it.

We were driving from SC to GA on 95. 40 miles to go, 80 minutes per Google, its pretty desolate there, 2 lanes, hardly any exits, nothing but a flat plane and this is exactly what happened time and time again. I must have gone from 5 to 80 10 times for no reason at all.

A long time ago, in the same galaxy, back in my corporate days, company rented two party buses-we drank the whole damn way, for trip from Richmond to DC.

I did the route previously in car, so I know about two hours with light traffic.
We left Richmond around 5 PM, took over 4 hours, had to cancel the company dinner that night, as at 10 PM your reservations are gone, and most just want to sit in a bar and eat appetizers and burgers.

Traffic sucked, but was a damn fun ride.
Would do again!!
