The NY judge, Engoron rolled up first day of the trial against Trump and ruled Trump guilty. No testimony, no facts, nothing. Just ruled him guilty and then said, we'll have the trial to see how big the fine will be, for valuing Mar-a-Lago at more than $ 18M. Laugh all you want to, Trump WILL be convicted somewhere, perhaps in multiple venues. Yes, those convictions will be appealed and hopefully tossed out based on actual innocence, but go ahead and laugh, thinking that the TDS afflicted are NOT going to vote to convict Trump. Recall the literal witch who headed up the Fulton County grand jury? That's who you'll be seeing on the various juries, people like her, like Engoron, etc.

Edit: This 'rape victim' admits to being a big fan of the show that stared....HER RAPIST, and was also a big fan of the Law and Order show that had one of its episodes perfectly match this 'rape victim's' story.

And then, the "rape victim" who claimed Trump's splooge could be found on her dress, won't hand over the dress to be tested. Weird. Monica had no problem doing that to prove HER story.

First, let me say that DeSantis dropping out hasn't changed my opinion of Trump or DeSantis at all. I still believe Trump is basically a carnival barker who will likely lose the general election. I also still think DeSantis would be a far superior POTUS.

With that said, after thinking more about the (probably unlikely) possibility of DeSantis as Trump's VP, I can see the following positives:

1. Having DeSantis on the ticket would bring in some anti-Trump votes that would otherwise stay at home or vote third party.
2. It would set up DeSantis for 2028 even if they lose the general election.
3. If DeSantis served as basically the hands-on guy who focused mainly on working with Congress and pushing/pulling the levers of govt, that may result in actually getting lasting change enacted.
4. Even before the general election, if Trump has to drop out for any reason, that immediately propels DeSantis as the Republican candidate.
5. If the Democrats stick with Biden/Harris (unlikely), think how fun the debate between DeSantis and Harris would be.

Also, despite DeSantis stating unequivocally that he wouldn't be Trump's VP, he could spin it using points #2 and #3 above.

Just some thoughts....maybe my attempt at coping.

I can't see that happening, but I could be wrong. I keep hearing Tim Scott, also doesn't sound like a fit to me. Your points are valid but that would take a lot of pride swallowing in my opinion.

I am right sometimes though, this popped up on my Facebook memories yesterday. I wrote it on the day Trump was inaugurated. Nailed it.

So Trump is president, he is my president but not my choice, I'll live with that. I don't know if he'll be a good president, only he can prove that one way or the other. My personal opinion is he'll be a flaming failure and a one term wonder, but I don't know.

One wants the office of president, the other wants to be a dictator and is asking the courts for full immunity to do ANYTHING HE WANTS to me, you and our families. There have been 45 presidents that have managed to hold office without requiring full immunity for their actions even when they "cross the line" in Trump's words. You want patriotic Americans to vote for a guy that wants full immunity and totally disregard what is laid out in our constitution because he's freaking special.
