Default Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale, AZ Jan 20

Last week I planned on going to BJ, got Betty Boop cleaned up, filled up and last Friday I woke up at 5AM and left around 6AM.

Television does not gives this event enough credit. Gents, this event is insane, the amount of money invested on setting up the logistics got to be in the millions. There are cars, cars and more cars. I noticed few cars that have been in BJ before and were for ale once again.

Every item for sale there was way overpriced. Corvette posters marked up about 200% from prices we see at Midamerica, Ecklers etc. A 16oz bottle of water and a 20oz soda was $3 each.

Many cars are not in great condition. I guess the interior lights make the cars look great for TV.

There is an orange Super Bird that had more waves than the Atlantic Ocean during hurricane season. There were some beauties for sure, some bad asses cars and many classic vehicle. I wanted to see Reggie Jackson but, didnt see him.

This old dude was being interviewd by that babe. I have no idea who he is. Anyone?

Thanks Pete, those were great. If I had to answer honestly with my heart and not my head, of all the cars I saw there I would want that black #3 as my first choice

You are welcome Taurus. I knew you, Friz and Bryan would love the picture.

There were a lot of NASCAR guys there remembering Dale E. I had to wait for the car to be alone like that. There was a dude with a cap that was there standing looking at the car and he looked very sad. I guess that is one hardcore fan.

Thanks for the pics Pete. Going to BJ would be a real treat. I get the impression they pick and choose to the cars they sell on TV.

Was there any good deals for the mere mortal on average priced muscle cars or ??? The high end stuff is for the rich guys to show off to one another on. I'm not real big on auctions since they do not favor the buyer much of the time.

I had a 69 Camaro once. I do not feel compelled to relive that part of my youth for the prices they fetch now. It was cool, but not cooler than new cars with 400-500 hp. I'm more interested in the $5k-$10k oddball less popular stuff myself.

Awesome pics Pete. I remember seeing that WWII theme car on TV. It had some crazy engine in it if I remember correctly... something from a WWII fighter with insane power.

I sure would love to get my hands on that #3 as well. Of course I would take it straight to a track and race the hell out of it.

Love, love, love that GNX. Been SERIOUSLY thinking about selling the '02 Z and getting one.

If I could pick 1, it would be a tough choice between the ZL1 '69 Camaro and the ALMS C6-R... which I would also race the hell out of.

Well if we are playing the "If I could pick one for free" game, I'd probably go for the ZL-1 COPO Camaro. I'd drive it just to piss people off.

I forgot to add... I would definitely drive it as well. Of course that wouldn't be too much of a surprise to anyone who knows me.

Very cool... I had B-J on the the garage almost all weekend while I was working on the car. Would love to go one day. Really like the Callaway C4 and the Shelby Series 1... neat rare cars for sure.

Awesome pics, as always, Pete! Like I was there; I'm partial to the T/A's- but not the 79's as much as the 77/78's.

Seriously... I've had enough of this sh*t.

There was absolutely NOTHING in this thread to poke at or provoke a response like this so spare the "it wasn't my fault" reply. Every thread in this section will NOT digress into this bickering nonsense.

Simple enough?

Loved it Pete. Me and a group of friends were planning on going to B-J, and then plans fell apart for all of us. Would have been a hoot running into you there, had no idea you were going.

Great pics as always.

Awesome pics Pete. No 48 car huh?
I went to B-J in Vegas a couple of years ago. I agree with Pete on the cars, but I did see some screaming deals on some pretty good cars that go on the block before the TV cameras are turned on.
