Parts of that movie was filmed in the office building I worked in at that time. They had blocked off the lowest level of the parking garage, which is where I would park my '74 coupe. (Note that driving a big block Corvette, with side pipes, and the t-tops off, down to the 6th level of the parking garage was actually more fun than you might imagine.)

The original Amityville was fairly good. The second one, meh.

Same thing with the original Fog, and the mediocre remake.

I went to see that movie not knowing anything about it. At one point, I had to leave for a couple of minutes.

The biggest "chill up the spine" moment I've experienced from a movie was toward the end of Countdown to Looking Glass. Second place isn't even close.

Of course, it probably had a lot to do with my enhanced state of consciousness at the time.

That's as frightening as Paint Your Wagon, where Lee Marvin and Clint Eastwood sang. Thankfully, not together.

What can make Rhinestone even more frightening?

Imagine the year 1985. You're in a metal tube flying over the Pacific Ocean on a contracted military aircraft from Oakland headed to the Philippines. The entertainment is either a book, a Sony Walkman type cassette player, or one movie at a time played throughout the aircraft. You've already slept yourself awake, got bored with reading, the Walkman batteries are dead, and now the newest horror movie is flickering soundless in the dim/dark cabin since you already watched that shit once, which I'll add was one too many times. And now it's back...

So what's the problem? Turn off the sound and watch Dolly's tits.

Wait, are you saying there's something scary about Dolly's tits?

Poltergeist was pretty good too. The sequels went progressively downhill, but the first one is pretty good.
