My intention is to work with the heat etc. so I can see what happens INSIDE based on what I do outside. I am not going to use nitrogen flowing though the coil so there may be flaking. I want to know if a slower rise in temp vs full on fast ramp matters, and things like that.

I think the money would be better spent on proper soldering equipment. Good luck!

I know how to glue. I don't know squat about brazing.

Ok....rate, or berate, my very first ever braze. Took longer to get the gas/oxygen flame right, than to do the braze.

You should be good to go if it was hot enough to suck the solder in. My braze jobs looked better than a guy I hired, so don’t sweat it.

I did three practice joints. Two were good. Fillet all around. One sucked. Blobs of solder, a real mess. Not hot enough.

Unlike solder, it doesn't appear you can UNbraze. I was hoping to be able to heat and pull apart the original joint. Not gonna happen. It almost seems to weld even MORE solid when reheated.

As long as it don't leak and sucked the brazing/solder in. You can melt shit apart but alot of heat required. Not easy sometimes.

That may be the world's first soldering pun. Congratulations.
