When you do, let me know! Seems like every 10th car out here is the police, even on the back roads.

I have heard there is a stretch not far from here for some high speed test runs, I need to find out where exactly. My best runs are trough the tunnels. My Billy Boat Fusions sound good at 130.

I see 150+ at least weekly. But that is what is nice out west, more open spaces. Another example is last summer a group of 5 Vettes from the local Vette group traveled with the Corvette Caravan as far as Denver. Then we went off on our own. We went to Mt. Rushmore, Devils Tower, through Yellowstone Park, Craters of the Moon Park, up through Boise and back to the Bay area. We hit at least 150mph everyday. On one leg Reno to Salt Lake City is 525 miles we made in 5.5 hrs this included gas/food/pee stops. All of us saw 170+ and spent most of the time 110-120 range. Come out west we can show you places to roll.

Default It is sad

It's too bad you guys live on the east coast, we have some really fun events here in the west. You folks have a couple of 1 mile shoot-outs, but here we have Open Road racing. 90-130 miles of closed 2 lane highway. You pick a speed you are going to average. Whoever else picks the same speed is in your class, whoever comes the closest to a perfect time is the winner. So it is a high speed time/distance rally. I average 170 with speeds over 200mph. That is how I got the "member of the 200mph club" avatar. To get this on a 2 way race (45 miles up, stop eat lunch, then race back) I went over 200mph both directions through the speed trap. For me it was 201.6 and 203.6.The fastest I have had my car to is 207.6mph.

Nevada:
OpenRoadRacing
Texas:
BBORR - Big Bend Open Road Race
Nebraska:
Untitled Document
Nevada:
Homepage Main Menu: Flat Out On A Public Highway! (home.htm)

Now Texas and Nebraska are closer the Nevada, but it is still a long haul from the east coast. I have never ran either of these events, Texas is tight with 43 turns in 43 miles. Then Nebraska is less the optimal road conditions and the grid fills up real quick. But have heard good things and great times being had at both.

I would love to try an event like that! Sounds like a total rush. Maybe someday I can make my way out there for one of those.

You can use it inside or outside the car and it doesn't fall off either!

Well, it doesn't fall off at the speeds you travel.
