Bad Day Today. Had to put Ricky Down
  You guys know it's stressful. Been crying for hours & wife is a mess. He was 14yrs old and the last one in the house. Pic above was back in adoption day and more recent on the stairs. He sure was a tough guy. Survived a Platelet disorder and pulled through. A couple of injuries on his back. Had Pneumonia and pulled through. A year ago he was attacked, broke his jaw. Dr did 3 surgeries and pulled through. I had to feed him by hand from my finger for a couple months A few weeks ago his demeanor changed to where he would no longer settle or take naps all day. It was and instant change. He still had a hell of an appetite but was off balance. He would go outside to pee and appear lost. This morning was not good. Went by the Dr and it was time. What was cool is that Ricky pretty much had VIP status at the vet since he was there so often. All the techs came in also and even the Dr got emotional. Dr said it was a stroke First time we have been without a pup in the house in 26 years. So, we're going to take a break I guess for a few months, Travel everywhere, come back and start again. |

Sorry for your loss Mike, that's one of the most difficult things to do. I've done it twice with long time fur buddies the last two years, still can't talk about it much. Time hasn't helped much yet.

So sorry for your loss. We have not been without a pet in over 34 years. We have lost many a pet over the years. It never gets easy and it pulls a part of your heart away each time. We have our last three, once they pass we will be without a pet for the first time.
He will be waiting for you at the rainbow bridge. |

So very sorry for your loss.
our pets are actually family and it hurts just as bad to lose one. Ive been thru it many, many times over all these years. I always give my self time to grieve, but then I will always go out and rescue another deserving pet. Its not to replace the one lost, but to fill the hole in my heart.
