Default Map sensor

Just replaced the air pump on my 87 Targa top.
During the pump change I found a crack in the Map sensor.
Looking down the barrel the crack is just a bit off the center bottom
all the way thru to the outside and about 3/8th long.
Could this be the source of my idleing problem.Idles at about 700 rpm for awhile and then just coughs and dies.Starts right back up.
Doesn't do it all the time just once in awhile....about 50/50 with the good times.
Kind of a lot to lay out on my first post huh???

MAF sensor ; MAP sensor used on 90/91 TPI engines
I would seal the crack air tight and see if problem persists
