For the math wizzes, just like an ICE the harder you press the go pedal the more you burn. There were a few runs with some spirited driving.

Imagine the ICE with spirited runs and getting such great gas mileage.I know what the Hellcat does as you start to have some fun for long periods of time. The more I press that right pedal the quicker the little gauge which goes to "E" heads in that direction.

The Hummer actually gets better mileage in city driving than highway. I won't bore you with the science behind that either.

I'll pay the .09 cents a KW over the $3.42 a gallon premium. In 686 miles of driving, I spent $37 in electrical charging. To compare the two vehicles: Hellcat approximately $120 for a months of driving, Hummer $37, no oil changes, no transmission oil changes, no antifreeze to change, no radiator hoses, heater hoses or fuel lines to worry about.

EV's are not perfect but if the world thought like most of you on this forum, we
would still be using slide rules and steam locomotives.

Like I've said before, I'm not trying to convince anyone to purchase an EV, keep and ICE or pedal you bike around. Keep an open mind, take a little trip in and EV, they are a different ride.

Where I am, electricity is over 54 cents per KWH and gasoline is about $4.49 per gallon for premium. EV's were more popular when we WERE using slide rules and steam locomotives, over 100 hears ago. They outnmbered ICE's until the 'teens when the electric starter was invented. After that, the short range, long-charging time EV's were set aside to make way for the gasoline buggies that women were now able to start. Nothing has changed in 120 years: Toxic batteries--low payloads--short range--long charge times.
And really, more toxic and environment-unfriendly than ICE vehicles.
Your EV Hummer has a carbon footprint many times the footprint of my 3 1960's GTO's and '61 Corvette. What's to crow about?

I stopped once to top off because the trip advisor was showing about 5% power left by the time I was going to be home. Stopped because, 1) I really needed a Bio break, 2) I hadn't eaten since the night before and 3) Just to piss off all the nay sayers of EV's.
Took a grand total of 36 minutes to bring the truck from 32% charge to 95% charge. Time enough to use the facilities, grab a bite and get some munchies for the final trip home. Arrived home with 42% charge, cost me $7.35 to fill up in the garage and $26 at the charger. I'll be glad when they open the Tesla chargers and we get the adapters. I think I'll be able to up the charge rate some. It is capable of 350KW charging.

I know everyone has their own opinion of EV's and ICE's. Like I've said before, I have the Hellcat and will have it till I can't anymore. I enjoy the EV, it is a different experience and different type drive. When I drove the Hellcat Friday to work, it took a block or two to get adjusted to a transmission shift again and the transfer of power thru the different gears. I kept pushing the brake down harder at stoplights thinking the HC was going to move because of the sound. Took me a mile or two to refocus my driving skills on that one.

Some interesting things I learned on the trip.
- When plotting the trip with the onboard navigation, it asks if you want to add charging points.
- If you add the charging points you can set up the batteries to precondition which increases the rate of charge and get's you back on the road quicker.
- Allowing the Super Cruise to drive takes getting used to. When it makes those lane changes to pass slower traffic or move over to let people merge, the first few initial times is a pucker factor.
Glad things went smooth. While the Hummer is one of the fastest charging vehicles, the main issue when road tripping a CCS car is not with the vehicle but with charger reliability. Driving my wife's BMW i3 today and had to charge and none of the 3 chargers at the place I tried to charge was working After 20 minutes on the phone with customer service, we finally got one of them working.

I want to know when Chevy or an aftermarket off roading company will make an extra battery in the shape of a Jerry can, to mount on the back, along with the farm jack. When you're running low, just stop, plug in the spare battery 'can' in and get some more range.

A truck with a 50gal nurse tank in the back can take you probably 1,500 miles, if you're not pulling a trailer.

There is a 50% chance that I'll be able to convince the wife to get a Model Y for her and sell the i3.
No more worries about malfunctioning ccs chargers. Tesla chargers rarely ever break.

I can get a Model Y RWD in stock for $38500.. I get $1000 off as I'm a Cybertruck reservation holder.
Her i3 should bring $10k and there is a $7500 tax credit.
Car would cost me $24k or so.. I can come up with the cash, so I wouldn't need a loan.

Why not buy her a GT40 with a bundle of snakes exhaust and a rowdy side oiler?

$7,500 tax credit to buy an EV is absolute bullshit. The only thing worse is bragging about taking a government handout to help buy an EV when you’re a high earner. Taking from the poor to give to the rich.

I used to feel that way too, but watching our government lavish gibs on the illegal hordes that are conquering our country without even firing that many shots, why shouldn't he get some gibs that he can afford to get?

What am I missing here?
The GOM (Guess-O-Meter) is only an estimate. It has no way of knowing about factors like terrain, wind, driving speed, etc. that can affect the actual range between the current location and the destination.
