Now What!! Heater Control Valve
So now it runs and drives.... BUT I have a leak coming from the "Heater Control Valve... Its only a small hole I thought about brazing it closed. Then found out I can buy a new one for $ 107.00 from Amazon....
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000C9DDMG/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3V7ATUWQ9JDN6&coliid=I2I0HZEJUF7NAZ How hard are these to replace? Cant really find anything about them on the web so I thought I would ask? Since the control valve is leaking, is there a good chance the heater is or will leak too? Thanks again for any help... You guys have been awesome so far.... Steve |

I made a replacement for mine with copper piping and a ball valve. I drive it
in the summer and park it for winter, so I only use the heater slightly and the ball valve keeps it off in the summer. It's an old car. I'm sure you're on the original heater core. I'd replace the valve and wait until there's a problem. But, if you want to bite the bullet and extend your education(and vocabulary), summer's the best time to replace the core and fix any other time bombs..... |
