Default C5 Headlight door runs on??

When I turn on the headlights, both HL doors open but the driver side door motor continues to run after door is open?? Motor will only stop if I shut the headlights off??
Any hot tips on a quick fix??
Thanks

Sounds like a stripped gear in the headlight motor. Check here for a replacement.

Yes, the grease in the assembly has finally dissolved those nylon bits GM used.

Right now your headlight still goes up and down. Soon it will start going up sometimes, and sometimes not. Then it will just stop raising, period.

Doing the repair yourself isn't difficult; I've done it twice, once on a '93 and once on a '98. Buy the repair kit and set yourself a couple of hours of workbench time.

Try to get the kit with the t-shaped bracket for holding the assembly together. It works much better than epoxy alone in my experience. Also watch out of those white plastic nubs in the motor area. They get knocked off/chewed and it messes with the operation, too. I think some people have used 1/2" cuts of tubing to replace them if lost.
