I believe that to be a Spanish FR8 carbine. A modified Mauser 98 style rifle in .308. Muzzle blast and huge fireballs quite likely even with the "flash hider".

Nearing the end, Val was dumping parts on eBay trying to stay alive. I made a bit on his back... wish I had been better informed about the company's history at the time. A shame things ended as they did.
