Audiophile: got my old stereo up and running

I just received my replacement foam speaker surrounds so I can repair all my Cerwin Vega's. I have 2 pair of the DX 9's and a pair of the DX 5's. Hauled them all over the Pacific while I was active duty plus 20 years in Alabama so the poor suspension foam on all the woofers is just falling off. I have a set of Bose 901 Series IV's that require the same type of repair x 18 drivers. I'm realizing I have a ton of shit sitting around waiting on me.

Many years ago a friend had his speaker foam surround dry up and fall apart.....I found a place here to buy new foam and repaired them myself for him......I met and help out Gene Cerwinski with a set up and install at the Washington DC National HI FI show......back in 60-70's.....

I remember when the show ended, driving home and passing the scenes of one of the hippy anti war riots.....a burnt out overturned VW bug at one street corner.....long day in HELL them hippy bastards to that to my full size Poncho.....

Dang! McIntosh stereo has always been my grail stereo. I heard a friend’s setup, back in college, and was forever spoiled for anything else.

BTDT, if you drive anything but some really QUIET car......not worth it....

I don't even have ANY tunes in the vette these daze......home stereo was a fine hobby for a LONG time, but when the hearing starts to go.....and listened to so much FINE music over many decades....time to give it up......

but listening to decent music in a high noise background.....never got it for me......
