Is that the main factor that causes the hazing? I've often wondered what causes it as I see lots of cars newer than mine with the issue but I've never had a car with it. I hand wash 99% of the time, I only go to a car wash during very long cold spells.

It is part of the problem, but not all of it. The primary issue is that they are now made of plastic, car washes do leave soap and other chemical films and the sun oxidizes both.

Fitting your Jag with a nice pair of Oakleys when it is out in the daytime will help prevent damage. Make sure you get complete UV coverage spectrum lenses!

I've even used that stuff on plastic convertible windows!....with no damage. I've used it to get scratches out of watch crystals, and it polishes any kind of metal. it's pretty amazing stuff. About 7 bucks a tube and you only use a bit at a time.

I ordered this stuff off of Amazon the day this thread started and it finally got here today
There is Chinese writing all over the tube, so it must be gewd.

Got mine couple of days ago. Tried it on my 2000 F150 and sure enough, it worked just like the videos. Took only 5 minutes for both lenses.

You only use a tiny bit every time......stuff lasts forever.

I've been using that junk since I was around 20....many moons ago.

I used the Turtle Wax One Step Headlight Restore this past weekend on my wife's '05 Lexus to great effect, but will look for the AutoSol Metal Polish next time.

We don't know that doesn't work. The cops keep busting people for trying to clean their own headlights before we get a chance to find out if it works. (There's a couple puns in there, but damned if I can find them.)
