Through the years of attending NHRA and IHRA races I have seen engine explosions in which the motor comes completely out of the car.

Not as spectacular as the videos but when I was racing gokarts, one of the guys asked the "hot shoe" to check out an engine ( 5 hp Briggs on alcohol ) after the races were over, to see what he thought.
They bolted the engine to Doug's kart and he got three laps in ( 17 second asphalt track ) before the engine blew the rod out of the block. PRO TIP--- Put oil in the engine, they last longer One of the wannabe's walks over to the piece of aluminum connecting rod that is literally smoking in the grass and picks it up Well, he picked it up for about 1.5 seconds before he dropped it. |
