I believe so is the K&N with a nut welded to the bottom. I have Cut apart many filters in my strokers, crate engines, ect. The wix no b/s is fantastic at trapping everything. They are all made by Dana.

Mobil 1 Extended Performance or the K&N one when I was tracking the Z06 some. K&N allows a bit more flow which keeps oil pressure higher.

K&N or Mobil, thet both are good filters, Mobil runs a sale, with 5 qts. of oil.

^ Actually they're not... the Mobil 1 has a different filtering media.
I tested them back to back b/c when I installed a M1 after years of using a K&N my oil pressure was considerably lower at idle. Not to get into a huge debate about oil flow characteristics etc. But I have pitures showing that w/ the same oil @ the same temp on the same day my car was 49psi @ idle w/ the K&N and 36ish @ idle w/ the M1. I have a LS4 high volume pup on my yellow Z06 and was running Amsoil 5w40.
