I'm glad that I don't need pills to get my pocket hose to expand, and yes, it's a great one, but you may not touch, use, or even look at it.

Here is my question, for anyone that has one. Under pressure (trigger not pulled) it is expanded. When you press the sprayer trigger and the pressure drops, does it try to retract again?
If you have NO sprayer attached, is it only a few feet long the whole time? |

They work ok just don't last long at all. If i had an oddball spot needing a cheap hose i still wouldn't buy one.

That being the case, I would have zero use for one. If I want only faucet pressure, I have a 6 foot hose. Put my thumb over the end and I have a 25 foot hose. That would be worthless.

Most of the one's I've purchased have failed, lasts for a little bit, connected ends break apart or develop pin holes. The expandable stretch hose inside degrades and leaves slimmy deposits in a bucket.

It expands to full length without the end capped off, but the damn things fall apart so easily.

I found a Stainless STEEL water hose on the .net,,....it's about 1/2" diameter with a liner, and it's light as hell, easy to pull across grass, and plenty of feed for sprinklers....didn't cost much either....like 40 bux or so....

I just bought this one. I was impressed with the brass fittings. Then, reading this post I see that the fittings are a problem. So I went back and see that they all have brass fittings. Oh well. Just for watering plants

When my wife and I bought our first house in 1994 I went to the hardware store like a good homeowner and bought a normal 50' and 100' hose for the two bibs on the house.
Guess what, I still have both those hoses today and use them all the time. Those "retractable" hoses look cool and easier to use (I wouldn't call using a hose hard in any manner) but I'll take the normal hose any day. I probably got lucky when I bought my hoses because they probably weren't made in China the manufacturing shit hole so they've lasted more than 6 months. |

I've got one I use for just one purpose (electric pressure washer), and that isn't very often. It hasn't been a problem as it is the garage except for the rare times I use it, but it does not seem durable at all.
One thing I noticed was that using it with implements like a regular trigger nozzle it just doesn't seem to generate the regular pressure from the nozzle as with a normal hose. It seems kind of odd and maybe just my imagination, but take it for what it is worth. |
