I always wanted to hook up my brake lights to a switch and flip them on just to watch the reaction.

My wife and I were discussing tailgaters, and she expressed interest in keeping a can of silly string in the car to spray out the window onto the car behind... I called her a lightweight, and recommended a can of this:

I giggle when I think of someone using their wipers to try and get it off.

I don't know where that was taken, but I think that it's also fair to say that in Texas, state law says that the number 1 lane is for passing only. Given that, Tommy the Turtle should have moved over.

Tailgating is a boneheaded move. That said, intentionally sitting in the passing lane to be difficult is equally boneheaded. You pick your poison.

If tailgating in the fast lane bothers you, move over. Problem solved.

PSA

When empty, throw the can into an open camp fire.
It blows up like a bomb and makes a huge boom.
I don't know what it is about Great Stuff cans, but they're awesome.
I love doing that.

My hatred for left lane poachers runs deep, except the guy was already tailgating as the lead car was passing. In addition, seeing a car merging from the right would have kept me in the left lane a bit longer to ensure I clear the merger.

Tailgater aggressively closed the gap, when the message was already apparent. Serves the dipshit right. I'm guessing the lead car saw a bunny jump out.

I like to use the opportunity to wash my windshield. I make sure I use ample amounts of cleaning fluid. Did it the other day and the girl finally moved to the left lane and flipped me off as she drove by. I gave her my widest grim and waved. I'm guessing it only irritated her more.

Indiana passed a law about using the left lane for passing and you can be ticketed for obstructing traffic for riding in the left lane and holding up traffic.
Many times on our four lanes someone holds up traffic riding side by with the slow lane. These idiots are only traveling usually 5 under the limit. I watched one clown speed up and slow down with the slow lane just to prevent people from passing. I had that nice warm feeling when a state police officer light him up and detained him on the side of the road.
The two lane slow movers are probably worse, you don't have much chance to pass. I followed a line home the other day, 12 cars in a row doing 40 MPH in a 55 zone. The lead cars would not pass the slow mover and kept tucked up so no one else could pass as well. A few tried but oncoming traffic was spaced such you couldn't take the four cars up front. It is people like this whom should get tickets and have their license suspended, maybe an insurance hike as well.

I hooked mine opposite once for the sole purpose of losing an asshat of a state cop who kept harrassing me, my brother, and every other kid my age in the area. Hit the switch, no brake lights would come on when you hit the brakes but the tail lights stayed lit.
This dude had a serious hard on for us all because of a thing my twin uncles perpetrated on him 15 or so years prior. He would write us all bullshit tickets. My dad took care of them with a judge buddy of his, but finally got tired of this guys shit. So dad and I wired up my Trans Am for the next time he lit me up. Didn't take long either. Two days late he jumped in behind me. When he hit the lights, I hit the gas. Took him out a back road that had some tight hair pins. Last I saw him, he was running out into Mr. Marshalls corn field.
When we went to court, the judge hammered his ass about harrassment, and told him if he saw him in his court again with "this nonsense" he would have him guarding a state parking lot.
He pulled me in his chambers and told me to immidiately "return that ****in car to proper working order!" Yes sir your honor. And thank you. He just winked and told me to GTF out of his office.
Ahhh the good old days.

If that vehicle went into oncoming traffic things get real bad real fast.

Better thing to do, IMHO, is just let off the accelerator and slow down.

Zippy the rocket ranger will go around and life will go on.

Just my .02.
Or get in the right lane if someone faster is coming up behind you. The one thing I loved about the 5 years I spent in Germany? People knew never to be in the left lanes unless they were traveling at insane speed. If you were coming up behind someone, they would move over well before you got up on them.

He didn't seem to be riding the passing lane excessively. He passed one person and was about to pass another and in between there was a car merging into traffic from an on ramp. The guy tailgating was being the jerk.

People that tailgate are assholes. People that brake check are also assholes.
Very lucky that suv missed oncoming traffic. When you do something stupid like that at high speed, it involves innocent people that have nothing to do with your stupid decision.
