Goodbye My Friend Island 14
In anticipation of this site coming back to traffic today I need to report that the other site and Facebook are reporting that Tim (Island 14) died of a heart attack yesterday.
Obviously, a lot of us knew and respected him and he will be sorely missed by his wife, his children, his various in-laws and his extended family. I include his Corvette brothers and sisters in the latter grouping and I am sure that we will continue to support the various programs (Christmas on Bantayan) being one. RIP Tim, you are already missed. |

My heart broke yesterday when receiving this news. It was Tim and Capn' John that both brought me to the Philippines my first time. Now both of them are gone.
The sad thing, the healthcare system over there fails by comparison to what we have here. When you get sick, it is very difficult to get any sort of treatment. And when it is an emergency, seldom are there good reports. Tim passed away yesterday about 11am central time from a massive heart attack at 58 years old. He leaves behind a wife and four young children in the Philippines and three daughters here in the US (which are all grown). I recently found out that three years ago Tim did accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior after a conversation with another forum member here. This brings not only me joy, but also joy to his family in knowing that he is in Heaven now. Right now, his family needs your prayers more than ever. Tim was the sole contributor to taking care of not only his family but also several close friends that lived in his village. Tim had a generous heart, not only with his rhum, but with anything he had. He lived a modest life in a remote location - and that is what made him happy. -Rob |

Tim was known to most of us on the forum and was liked and respected as a friend, a guy to talk racing with, and handy man with a bottle of Rhum.
Unfortunately, life in the Philippines does not lend itself to making a great deal of money. Accordingly, I have donated some money to the family to help with their immediate expenses and have done so through Tim's PayPal address. Anyone who wishes to assist can send money to PM Dixievet for directions. I am assured that members of his family can get to the funds. |

Like most of us, I never had the pleasure of meeting Tim in person. When I heard about his passing it was like a like loosing a friend that I had known for years. I actually had to leave a coworker's retirement party Thursday night after finding out about it.
RIP Tim. There will always be a place for you here

What a shock to hear this. Tim seemed a true caring, kind man who didn't criticize, befriended all and didn't appear to judge. He will be greatly missed here and irreplaceable in his village. So very sad.
