I worked for this one boss who had a very big mouth and would rag on you big time if you did something wrong. Yes he had a couple hands on events but keep acting that way.

I made a small mistake, I freely admit it. It was a mistake and he came over and pulled his normal bullshit. He went on for about 2 minuets, and of course it was in front of about 5 other people.

When he was done he screams DO YOU UNDERSTAND. I very gentley and quietly said no you made so much noise I turned you out completely, will you tell me again and at about 1/4 the volume please. ( I was ready to defend myself if necessary) He turned even redder and started to say something but simply said fix it and walked away. The whole crew cracked up and he never tried that again at that job site.

He was disciplining in private. Not his fault someone recorded it and leaked it.

This makes me have more respect for him. Whacko? Yes. Dedicated professional? Yes. He's worth millions and millions, probably hundreds of millions. He could shrug off a production delay and go vacation on a yacht. Instead he gives a damn about the project and is passionate about employees not causing delay or potentially causing severe harm/death to someone by being unprofessional and not following their COVID protocols.

He has a lot riding on timely completion of the movie. As producer, it all falls on him... I get it. I’ve worked in mission critical environments where lives were on the line. If some dufous ****ed up, the debrief will usually make the paint on the walls blister.

It's likely very few people broke the rules but he went off on everybody. That's not disciplining in private, and it's not the right way to handle it.

In my nearly 45 years supervising people in the military and civilian life, I've never screamed at an entire group and used that kind of language because a few broke the rules.
