Repost Job Interview

Friday had an interview for an internal job, promotion for me it I get it. The interview questions were some of the strangest I have heard. There were a few good thought provoking questions but some of them were out in left field and made me scratch my head. Don't have a warm fuzzy with this seeing as some of he other candidates are from the side of the plant which is closing.
Might be time to fulfill my dream of finding something in TN and moving. Hate to toss 12 years and the pension but happiness replaces most everything.

Hopefully around Nashville. I'd prefer to stay in the CST zone and away from Memphis. Still looking through some of the cities. Eventually my wife and I would like to move that way and eventually retire there.

These last few months have been killing me here. Since the announced the closure of our smelter all hell has broke loose. Everyone is trying to get over to our side of the plant. Add in the company is splitting this fall into two companies, Alcoa with all the mining, power, smelting and cathouses and Value Add Company to be named later this month. This one gets all the aerospace, auto, fasteners, can sheet, litho and building materials.
We have 572 people who will lose their jobs this month. Makes for a very crazy work environment. There are a bunch of people moving out of the smelter to our side of the plant with no experience with what we do. Top that off with about 10 or our electricians and 12 mechanics either taking the quit package or being laid off and things are going to be real dicey in the next few months.
