I didn't say to yell. Does the wife understand how much damage a small dog can do to a child's face?

Or how much the neighbor kids lawyer can get from you in damages when (not if ) your dog bites their kid?

Don't mean to be a hard ass here but putting your head in the sand serves neither your family nor the dog.

Not saying the dog is vicious. But the behavior you described is a sign of things to come.

Don't correct you dog with anger or yelling. The pack leader does not yell.

Be firm and curt. And consistent.

Sounds like you need to talk to your wife about what makes a happy dog (hint: it isn't coddling.) dogs thrive on leadership, discipline and service to their owners.

You can and should be kind to the dog. But remember, the dog is not a child. It is inherently tough - physically and mentally.

If you don't lead, your dog will.

its been 4 years with the dog, yea hes a a-hole , but we are getting along , i really like that he greets me when i come in through the door
