I know exactly why the price of oil and gas are dropping.

It's because I just bought a damn Nissan econo-box.

Seriously, I like the Sentra, and 37 mpg is nice no matter what the price of gas is.

Must be nice to only have to fill up 12 times a year.

Which means absolutely nothing for gas prices as far as decreasing in this area.

Actually the damn thing only has a 12 gallon tank, not really any more range than bigger cars that get less gas mileage. Fill-ups in the range of $20-25 though. With a 16 gallon tank it would have a 500+ mile range.

Go back to the beginning of the thread and listen to how stupid you sound.
Post #5, #6, & #11 are classics, back in July

The Highway Trust Fund to maintain roads/bridges is at an inadequate level. It needs refunding.

The lackluster people in Congress lack the guts to do it. What a better time than now. Too bad we have a do nothing Congress

It's done by raising the excise tax on each gallon of gas. Unpopular BUT necessary.

More money for them to divert and squander?
I dunno man... They can't be trusted with the cookie jar that they're holding, as it is.

The case to Raise the Gas Tax to Fix America’s Roads is in the below link but here's a taste

"The federal excise tax of 18.4 cents per gallon on gas and 24.4 cents on diesel has not been increased since 1993. That has severely shortchanged the Highway Trust Fund, which is expected to run out of money in May if Congress does not transfer more into it or raise fuel taxes. If the federal tax on gasoline had simply kept up with inflation, it would be 30 cents today."

link: http://www.nytimes.com/2015/01/11/op...cas-roads.html

In 1993 NYS raised the gas tax a nickle before the Federal Government did. NYS said it's to fix the bridges. I did a quick search months ago and they used about 50% collected to fix bridges and the rest put in the "general fund".

I live in NYS, ergo, my heavy skepticism toward giving the blood suckers any more of my money.
NYS has the highest taxes in the US already.

No way gas goes below $2/gallon here. Any time it gets close, they jump it up by at least 30 cents.

$1.94 per gallon here in Fort Wayne today. About two hours north of you. You guys normally have cheaper gas than we do.

The lower gas prices are nice, but the downside is that many friends and family have lost their jobs because of it. There is no "relief" in sight for us. Looking like demand will be down through '16. I do wish that the refineries would buy more WTI than Brent. WTI is usually $3.+/- less than Brent.

The oil price has helped to tank my TRP buy options.
