Yeah, for sure.

It was about 10 degrees off, so not too bad. It sucked, I've been in a lot worse though. Light chop everywhere, with the occasional moderate mixed in. Doing it for 3 hours really beats you up though.

The most I have taken off with in a Cessna 172 is 41knots sustained, about 10-20 degrees off centerline. We got off the ground in about 100 feet , but the ride wasn't too bad. That was in the high desert with flat terrain.

I've been in some seriously wicked turbulence, hate it.

Way back when... I had to do my night time cross country. We flew from Manassas through a slot over Dulles to Montgomery, MD. Airport was closed so I had to remotely click on the lights. We got to about 1000' and realized that there was about a 25-30kt direct crosswind. Instructor put it down for the first half of the touch and go. The coolest thing that night was that they let us do a T&G at Dulles. Probably could have done 4 on that runway.

Most times at night, it was like you were flying through Jello it was so smooth.
