I imagine had the subject of your derision been someone not as melanin-enhanced it wouldn't have been a problem.

My understanding is jcharity is an older black guy retired from the Detroit school system - one of the crappiest in America. He chooses to spend his days lording it over a political forum. He seems particularly sensitive to unflattering characterizations of black folks.

Maybe he's less of a tool IRL than he comes across as in CF but I doubt it.

I think that once a moderator posts as a participant in the discussion, like a judge, they should recuse themselves from the moderator role and let a different mod handle it. And in the same respect, if they enter as a moderator, they should not be able to participate. They can sway the discussion because of their officiating position. I started a thread at Dropzone.com in the guns and region SF about the very same thing.

Boy, If you want to see a leftest heavy leaning site, then go there. The few conservatives who post there need some voices that are more articulate than mine. You can't even talk about guns in the regular off topic SF.

There is no need to be now, or ever have been a skydiver. Half of them never have, either.

Actually, I'm oldwomanC6, and I started the longest thread on the site after DB Cooper thread. No one can compete with that.

Except that place is dead now. Especially in the C6 forum. All their folks with any actual knowledge came here. Their mods will kill that site...it's only a matter of time.

I have to wonder in the last several years all these new moderators. Some of those guys I have never heard of and have been there since 2004. VB and CF have some sort of thing going on with all the new infraction and the many bans that have happened.

There's a big difference, CF is owned by a major corporation who limits their exposure to things that damage their brand such as bias, threats of violence, homophobias, racism or anything that could cause them legal issues. VB is privately owned and they control what content they allow, not several lawyers and executives in an ivory tower. Funny thing is a lighter hand here has led to a better environment without all the issues that happened at CF.

The new mods and moderation started in a time when CF was frankly out of control. The sad part is while banning many who deserved it, far too many good people got swept away as well, many ended up here. You can tell the difference, the ones that were dicks there and cause the problems are also dicks here. They're easy to tell from the good guys that got banned unjustly in my opinion.
