Houston, we may have a problem. The bad.... # 7 piston. The good.....miraculously it didn’t f up too much other stuff. Bottom end is still OK. He found the timing chain loose, may have caused this.

Cylinder walls acceptable? You going oversize ( rebore ) or staying standard if it specs out?
You got really lucky. Looks like some scotchbrite 2" pads in an angle grinder will smooth out the head. What is the motor refresh plan ( parts )? |

My favorite part of freshening up the drive-train is the day it's all back together and I take it out to break it in. Heat cycle the diff if gears are swapped etc.
Really great feeling to know everything is working correctly. Hard part was the first track event after a rebuild although that worry goes away quickly afterward. Scott

And the end result...... Lessons learned....engine grounds are IMPORTANT. Vacuum leaks are a bitch to find. Went for a gentle warm up drive. Felt good and responsive. True test comes at the track.

Nice! Glad it's back up and running.
Last body ground issue I had with mine was the one on the fender well. Just a little bit of corrosion caused the usually squirrely gauges that surge/drop. That'll get your attention. :17 "woo" Scott
