Default My vet told me he is saving them in a glass jar to show me..

Took Teddi in to get neutered today after struggling with this for a while. I am not a happy camper about doing this. I think it hurts me more than him.

My vet is a personal friend and he knows how I feel about doing this to my dog. It's a big joke to him because he sees my anguish about losing gonads.

Don't feel too badly. They will be returned to your dog someday at Rainbow Bridge.

Take solace in the fact that you can carry them around in your pocket every day and let Teddi have them back any time that he needs them..

It won't change your dog that much...might even mellow him out a bit. Our Sam dog is fixed, and he is still wilder than shit...Still leg humps, all that good stuff.

We are debating weather to mate our miniature schnauzer or just get her spayed.
Her first period last month was a real trip.
The wife had her running around the house in baby onesies with the quickness and her attitude changed to very needy and cuddly.
That ended and she is now the most wonderful dog you could ever want.
We were told by a few people to let her have that first estrus no matter what, due to the fact that her demeanor will change for the better. They said if you get her spayed prior to that, she could turn into an angry bitch.
I dunno if that is true, but in Maddie's case, it sure is. She's just awesome.
She's already 9 months old.

Jeff DON'T DO IT... I'm so pissed at myself right now. I went on You tube and put in should I neuter my dog and every vet on there says NO. The only people who want you to neuter or spay your dogs are animal rescue so that they won't reproduce. By neutering them you give them a greater chance of different cancers, bone growth development stops, they get fat ,lethargic and it does not stop humping, aggression or other bad behaviors that we have been told that it stops. I called the vets office too late because I wanted to stop it but I was too late. I'm so pissed at myself right now.

This is a good chance why cancers are so prevalent in dogs. DO NOT NEUTER OR SPAY YOUR ANIMALS.

Points well taken.
We are leaning toward not doing it anyway.
I'll share what you said with my wife.

We had Nukka spayed when she was almost 18 months. She had already gone through 2 cycles, and we didn't want to breed her. Nukka has always been a sweet puppy, and she still is. And she's still very much a puppy, as she gets into everything.

Loki was neutered when he was around a year old. He was very much an alpha, and getting into everything. Of course, we was still a puppy. After neutering, he did calm down a bit, but he's still an alpha. Now that he's 3 1/2, he's calmer than he was when he was a puppy, but he still gets into stuff periodically (daily).
