It’s business as usual at work for the most part, except for the mandatory temperature check upon entry into the building. That, and the 60 individuals who are currently out due to having tested positive for Covid-19.

Pennsylvania's governor Tom shit for brains Wolf has decides that we want to start wearing face masks at work even though we have no contact at all with anyone other than our fellow employees.

This includes the machinists, the saw operator, the sheetmetal guys, welders and the shipping guys. Probably the machinists have the greatest chance of working close but even if two of us were on Bridgeports ( manual milling machines) , we would still be over 10' apart.

This ought to be a complete and total joy come Monday when it goes into effect. Face masks collapse my sinuses and as a added bonus, my safety glasses will fog up unless I move them down on my nose but that lessens the effectiveness of them.

The room I work in is about 30' x 50' and has three CNC milling machines in it. I'M THE ONLY ONE IN THE ROOM!!!!!! WTF do I need to wear a mask?

Temp taken before we enter the building. Daily attestation regarding no symptoms. All repeated after lunch. Being in healthcare, that’s been protocol for three weeks now...except the last week masked up the whole time is mandatory.

I am not “patient facing” but we have patients in our building and share some commons spaces, so protocols apply to all.

Some people out due to direct community exposure. Cannot come back until negative test results are received.

She came back into our office a few minutes later with tears in her eyes and yelling that we needed to be nicer in trying times like this. She was nearly hysterical and wouldn't let anyone get a word in edge wise.

The thing is since this virus thing has started they have shifted all the contact between our company personnel and contractors we do business with to our office. While lessening contact between the control rooms. This has effectively doubled the traffic in my office area. Since we are also the more experienced personnel we also tend to be the older personnel. This has shifted the exposure risk to our office of higher risk personnel. Needless to say we are not to happy about people traipsing in and out unnecessarily. I see some inter office rivalry coming up in our next meetings.

The reason we are all here vice working from home is the field work element of the job. Someone has to keep the plant running.

Have any of you been experiencing emotional outbursts from co-workers?
No. Montucky Even our Libs are tough.

There is some staff that still has to be there. Incoming paper documents that have to be scanned, incoming checks, etc. (In this day and age we should be paperless but some just cannot seem to get there. ) Not a lot of staff have to be there but a few.

I’m not there everyday. The leadership team rotates out a few days a week to make sure the in-office staff has support. I’m usually there two days a week...sometimes three.

Collapsed sinuses and difficulty breathing all day.

Screw you gov wolf . If masks were so important, why did you wait until three plus weeks to decide isolated workers needed to wear masks?

I'll just wear a hanky / bandana as a mask tomorrow

I've been working from home for the past few weeks. Best weeks of my entire employment with the company. I was told that I need to be onsite for the next five weeks. I made it three hours today before getting a migraine and feeling nauseous from all the sanitizer being sprayed around.
