I also live as a lone household resident.
But I just did this!

This thread is gold! Now that I’m retired, cooking dinner has fallen on my shoulders. Anyone with good recipes for chicken, pasta, or beef/chicken stews post ‘em up! The wife doesn’t eat ANY seafood. Wish I had known that before we got married!

Ummmm, I’ve seen some of your culinary creations both here and at that other place. Let’s just say you get a “Honorable Mention”.

Focus on cooking stuff that freezes well. Makes it even easier when you just have to reheat something instead of cooking even a small meal.

Pro-tip: The bread goes into the toaster, not in the boiling water. Try that, and I think your toast game will increase exponentially.

Next week's tip: which side to spread the butter on.

What @kingpin has cooked looks great, but I can't see making all that shit, and mess, for just one person.

There is a "cooking" thread section at The Barn, https://www.thevettebarn.com/forums/...splay.php?f=84

Myself, kind of loss the passion for cooking with the loss of the SO last year.
Not much joy in cooking for one.

Anyway, the "what's cooking" pix are sure to piss off Thomas

Most Americans make way to big of a deal over food. Look at how fat americans are.

Hell there's even a dozen reality shows about freaking food.

I admit to over indulging on occasion...an extra helping of pasta and sauce...one more handful of chips with lunch...4 pancakes when two will do...

But for the most part I eat to live not live to eat.

Me.
I like to cook Italian cuisine.
And maybe a drop or two of whisky.

I live alone too but cook enough to feed a large family. That's what refrigerators are for. I eat my fill once a day and a kettle of spaghetti or chili is enough food for around 5 meals. This cuts back the amount of cooking and cleaning that needs to be done by a large factor.

Rice. Sausage (my homemade), cabbage, pineapple, sweet peppers, yellow and red onion, celery, ginger, garlic, green beans, corn, carrots, ham, chicken, sesame oil, soy sauce, sriracha

And each container had two lumpia (homemade) on top of the rice.

I was sold out in about an hour.

Yup.
The only thing I don't cook in large batches is seafood. Only enough to last the meal or maybe the next day if it's fish.
My lasagna lasts a week and I have no problem eating it everyday.
I made a big pot of "Avgolemeno" which is a Greek soup with egg and lemon for body and thickening and minced chicken. Been eating it for the past 3 days. Today I'll have some for lunch and then the pork shoulder I have marinating in the fridge goes in the oven for 5 hours for a small dinner and food for the next week.
