It’s the other vehicles on the road that make me consider selling mine. It’s almost more stressful than relaxing to ride now. Covid made people extremely impatient and the road rage is insane. Add to that the distracted and oblivious drivers, and it’s a disaster waiting to happen.

It's still a crotch rocket. Not a matter if you get yourself killed by when.

Between test rides, service rides, and actually riding for fun I have been on well over 1,000 bikes.

Closest I've ever come to death was on an 883 Sportster.

Ridiculous argument. Truly. If you accept this, you’ve resigned yourself to crashing and in your case dying. You don’t think this way when you get behind the wheel of your Prius do you? “It’s not if, it’s when.’” Or my other favorite “There are two kinds of riders. Those who’ve gone down and those who will.” Why is a motorcycle any different than a car? It’s not a forgone conclusion you’re gonna crash. That’s silly.

You think crashing a Bagger at 80 mph is somehow less damaging than crashing your H2 R?

I saw The Grim Reaper one night, off in the distance, back around 1977.

I had a 1974 900 Kawasaki then which was supposed to do 140 MPH; it was stock except for a header. I was drunk one night and decided to wind it out, which I did on a nearby parkway. It was bouncing at 135+ and almost 9,000 RPM which was the redline in high gear.

Obviously, I didn't crash.

I've been hurt pretty badly in a car crash.

My dad is a paraplegic after a wreck on his way home from work in his truck.

Spend any time... alive... and eventually you'll get hurt.

...and which bike do you think each of those women would choose?

Yea, Rosie definitely wants the old Heritage. (Corrected)

I put 450 miles on mine yesterday. Average speed 60 mph, 40 mpg. Two up. Nimble it’s not. One doesn’t flick an 850# bike.

I wouldn't want her stinking up the back seat, that's why there isn't one.

* it's an '88 Heritage Softail.

I see the softail now. Didn't take the time to actually look originally.

They all look the same sitting on the side of the road anyway...

Yes, like a motorcycle!

The Heritage Softail was a modern replica of the '50s-era Hydraglide.

You look at that as a positive. Personally, if I wanted something from the 50s... I'd buy something from the 50s.

Is it your argument that cars don't look like "cars" unless they are shaped like a Model-T?

Looks matter which explains why your bike looks filthy.

Not even in the ballpark of a 37 ton Goldwing.

Listen in person. You may change your mind.

I hate to break it to you, but you'll see nothing but that big 240 tire from the word go. The Duc has 94lb-ft of torque vs a Valkyrie at about 96... and it weighs 200lbs less. Not to mention traction control, way stickier tire, etc.

These sound amazing, especially with a nice (Termi) exhaust... but there's nothing quite like the old twins.

I cannot think of a worse answer. And that's from an admitted Duc fanboy.

Short answer, the resale on the Diavel is pretty awful as it is a bike that clearly has divided opinions. Other than that. They're awesome and they certainly get attention everywhere they go. The days of nightmare Ducati maintenance are pretty well behind. They still have a significant amount, but nothing like the seemingly daily valve jobs of the older versions. They are also oddly comfortable to ride (at least in my opinion).
Hey speaking of the 240 rear tire. I have one on my fatboy. Fuggin tires wear out in less than 10k? I have Michelin Scorchers now. What tire is a good replacement, and is there like a tire rack type place for motorcycle tires to compare stats etc? Thanks
