SO much meaningless shouting by whoever in the band, and so much guitar NOISE that the track don't even have the sound of the cymbals she playing....as if it's a over dub something studio....

that group sounds like crap, just noise.....not doubting or jabbing the chick on drums there....just that the general comment about 'modern' music.....

I like watching Portnoy and Mangini (for different reasons), as well as Peart (who did an excellent tribute to Buddy Rich a while back), all of whom have more talent in their little fingers than some bands today have collectively.

I dunno what's out on 'U tube' vids, but I think I still have a CD of that song, I know I had a old record of it....

but the record for sure had a long drum solo on it, difficult beat to play to.....My old BIL was a musicologist, and he met all the famous music folks back in the day, I think it was him that told me that Joe Morello was one of the very few drummer that actually took the time to TUNE his drums....

as in to a note, key, whatever.....

Neil Peart, one of my favorites, all around decent guy. When his wife passed, lost interest in music, he just jumped on his bike and toured North America for a year or so to clear his head. Glad he got back in.

Neil's book "Ghost Rider" is about the entire ordeal. From the death of his daughter to the point where he called Geddy and Alex and mentioned getting the band going again. He started out basically in Toronto and wound up in Belize.

The weather that guy rode through is crazy. IIRC it was a total of 50,000 miles on the bike. From the extremes of The Arctic Ocean to Belize. Helps one understand lot of his lyrics as well.
