Default Ok J-Frame Carriers....

What IWB holster do you prefer the best?
I'm looking at the Bianchi Pro 100 , but have not tried one yet.

I just REALLY don't like any concealed carry holster with a belt clip. I just keep thinking that, in the heat of the moment, what with the adrenaline and all... it's just very possible to draw the gun, holster and all... and not be able to shoot because you can't put your finger in the trigger guard.

I know... I'm in the minority opinion on this one.

Actually I do not think you should be in the minority. If there is a belt LOOP on the inside the pants holster you are good as long as it is retained with the belt through the loop. The clip style can be defeated and it has happened to me on the firing range. Better there than when I really might need it.

AND I have observed the same situation with other people at the range.

I use a really wide nylon through the belt OWB. I can't wear an IWB.

I've never had that issue.

My crossbreed supertuck combined with Galco "cop belt" stays put. A belt clip with the flange at the bottom should lock on the belt (assuming you have the right belt - but I know Thomas does)

I have one similar to the OP photo and it stays put too.

Down side of clips on mag holders is I break them off getting in the car. Especially plastic ones.

Thomas, why do you think you have the issue? Retention too tight? Just curious.

Something like that. When I wear one, it makes me look like I have a giant tumor, easier to just wear a jacket or overshirt.

I just don't want to go through 6 different holsters, before I find the right one.. I have an IWB clip on for my LC-9, and ya, they're not the ideal situation, but I prefer the convenience if it.

Prefer the outside belt loop holster with a thumb break retention snap, works best for me. Want that holster to stay put.

You will soon have an entire dresser drawer-full of holsters, just like the rest of us.

It's just the way it works.

Don't ask me, only revolver I carry is an N-Frame

I'm still using these for my carry needs: FIST, INC..

I don't wear as intended however (too floppy). I wear OWB but strapped under the belt with the plastic back used as a paddle. There's a hook on it which locks into the top of the pants pocket on the inside making the holster impossible to work loose. Since I lack an ass I'm always hiking my pants up whether carrying or not... But I never need to readjust the holster (couldn't if I tried ).

If that's confusing here's a picture -

Nope. I bought one of those kind of holsters as a temporary solution until my custom arrived once. I think it only fell out onto the ground two or three times.

Also, those types of holsters in the OP don't hold the gun in a fixed position. They can rotate back and forth, requiring you to make periodic adjustments to keep it where you can draw it and reholster effectively.

These constant adjusting movements can also divulge the fact that you're carrying, which is contrary to the goal of carrying concealed and could lead to an arrest in certain areas.

Jeff, one thing that is very important in a concealed carry holster is the ability to reholster quickly, with one hand and with no fumbling. Very few holsters that are inside the waistband that are not using kydex in some way meet that requirement.

The Minotaur holster by Comp-tac is my absolute favorite IWB model. I am unable to find anything I don't like about it. You can even tuck your shirt into your waistband over it. The way the clips attach to the belt, both at the top and the bottom, ensures the angle of the gun stays put.

It is extremely comfortable because the part that touches your body (or undershirt in my case) is all leather, which flexes a little as you move. The way the angle of the gun (the cant) is set is permanent so it doesn't rock forward or backward... set it and forget it.

I have that Don Hume for a Glock 27. The belt clip is sturdy, and on a good belt, it's never felt insecure, however, I wish it had loops as it does permit the gun to cant forwards or backwards at bit. Actually, I don't mind that so much as it allows for a bit of adjustment when sitting but it doesn't feel as secure as my Milt Sparks Summer Special with loops. If I was only going to have one holster, it would be the Milt Sparks, but don't know if they make a J-frame version.

BTW, the Don Hume does stay 'open' so you can re-holster with one hand.

Well.... I just ordered this one... Don Hume H715 M Conceal Carry Holster Fit 3 2 for s w 36 37 2" BL Brown | eBay

For $27.00 to my door, we'll see. Hopefully it isn't the start of a collection.
I got the brown one.

Hard to beat for the $$$, IMO. Mine fits the Glock really well and is much better made than the price would suggest.
