Every place is different. On our virtual visits, if patient has fever above 99 or respiratory symptoms, we have them come in so we can get vitals.

How long will the symptoms last? Hard to say, for MOST, 14 days seems to be average for those that show symptoms like yours. I say that with caution because some are having long term complications long after 14 days.

I would highly recommend getting your hands on a pulmicort (Budesonide) inhaler (inhaled corticosteroid). It can reduce the incident of severe respiratory symptoms and complications.

My oxygen has not gone below 95 and the times it was at 95 it was only there for a short time. Most of the time I'm at 96 with some 97s tossed in the mix.

I have ZERO difficulty breathing except when I force the max capacity in to my lungs. That makes me want to cough, but I don't always actually cough.

I have no sore throat. I have a minor headache and fever that never gets below about 99.5.

I just got off the phone with a co-worker who tested positive about 4 days before me and he said it was day 11 before he felt any improvement. That will be tomorrow.


My dad is taking a steroid...which oddly has no megadose and taper. It's just one a day. It seems to be working great for him. At 81 he is my primary concern and he doesn't even have a temperature anymore. Day 5.

Keep in mind, elderly fail to run fevers like younger folks do.

Can you tele conference with your dad’s doctor? I know two people with the ‘rona. They are at home monitoring temps and oxygen levels. Their dr called in rx meds for them. Zpack, steroids. They are sick. I read somewhere that Pepcid should be included with the vitamin c and d and zinc.
