Default Spend $850, save $1,659 per year!
So insurance covered our new roof, our out of pocket was minimal, but the new roof would not drop our rates all by itself. Our roof didn't meet code because of the number of nails per truss.

Fast forward, hired a company to come in and add 2 extra nails per truss throughout the entire roof. Took him 2 hours, $850, and now we get $1,659 discount every year. Went from $3,741 to $2,082 per year.



That was a great investment.

Must have needed additional nails to the top sill plate and how the **** did insurance guy know unldss he went into attic.
Insurance threatened to drop a house over a broken window on a sun porch, told them eat a bag of dicks and dropped them, saved money with different place.

We had a Wind Mitigation report updated after the roof was installed and that's what documented the deficiency. The $850 included an upgraded wind mit, and that 2nd report was sent to the insurance company.

I am surprised the contractor dis not tell you this or that your insurance company did not tell you prior to the work starting. It's in both their self interest to get you to do it.
