On a lighter subject. It is one day closer to spring!

I mean, the market has been on fire for the last 4 years, there is plenty of time to move money around. I usually would let it sit, but as we are planning to retire in ~5 years, I am being much less aggressive. Watched my Dad lose 700K in the market and that about did him in.... wont do that to myself. My matkey accounts are earning 15.5% that I monitor and my F! (with charges) is less than 11.... so, there's that.

I AM OLD BB! And I am OK with that.

The "Trump market" has caused a difficult conundrum for many folks that are about my age = 56. Just at a time when we should be lowering our portfolio's allocation to equities as we prepare for retirement, asset values have been skyrocketing, increasing the weight of equities. Additionally, bond yields ae incredibly low, so taking money out of stocks currently zooming up at 20+% per year to invest in bonds earning 2-3% takes some very real discipline.

I never planned on "reducing" my stock holdings as I approached retirement, instead I pictured stopping investing additional funds in equities, and let the allocation slide down on its own as I invested in other asset classes. Obviously, this hasn't worked. It is always painful to "punish winners" by selling them because they became too valuable.

We are about as well diversified as you can get, real estate, stocks, bonds, mutual funds, roth's, money market, coins/gold, blah blah blah, I really have no idea what we are doing, we just throw it out there in every direction and pray.

Luckily hubs has a great pension and lump sum, so unless he leaves me for a younger woman with bigger tits, I should be ok too.
