Default There is a monster in my house. Serious.

This puppy is like a puny, roving shark. He gets all fired up after eating and turns into a marauder. He jumped over the end table last night. He barks and growls at us while grabbing our pants legs and often perpetrates run by chompings.

He is relentless with tug o war. I checked for a "good/evil" switch but can't find it. Apparently it is switched to evil.

When he is asleep, he is sweet as hell. Otherwise, secure loose articles of clothing and hide your nads.

Run by chomping
Sounds about par for the course for a little pooch.

Wait till the teething starts and he chews up the entire house, brick and all. Those are fun times.

The cat and the dog could share the fun.

I will try to get some video. As soon as he sees the camera he walks right up to it.

Our training pretty much eliminates chewing up the house. We don't allow chewing on anything but his toys. We redirect him every time and his toys are always present. Of course this means never taking your eyes off of him...

We also don't tolerate teeth contact with skin. But it takes time for them to learn. We never hit them or slap them. I usually grab his snout and say "no bite!" and shove him down on the floor. Or I'll bend his lip under his teeth so he bites himself.

Each dog chews up at least one thing. Hanna ate the wife's glasses. Ranger chewed up a light stand. Django destroyed a tv remote. But they only get one pass.

The funny thing is that he seems to have no fear. He just comes back for more.

As he gets older, my corrections will intensify. He will learn that I am his god and my wrath will smote thee like a lightning bolt from on high. These dogs get big and they are very tough. Sometimes you need a little controlled whoop ass to remind them that us humans won the evolutionary war.

My approach creates mutual respect and trust. Just like the alpha in the pack. But the first year is a bugger.

Having a trained dog in the house helps tremendously. Our female Corgi was clearly helping train the Pit-mix when we got her. She would manipulate that dog constantly...sometimes to train her, sometimes for her own entertainment.

The good/evil switch is located on it's ass. Activated by your foot.

This ^^^

Pretty much what we do with Chloe, our 17 week old Lab.

Given free reign,
Pretty sure she would consume the entire house...and everything in it.

Exercise is the key.
My job (besides poop pickup patrol) is to tire this girl out. Needless to say, the young Lab is wearing me out quicker

My sister's chocolate lab broke into her house.
He could also turn on the outside faucet and leave the water running.
