BUT, your comment on it being a mechanical POS.....why?? mine ran fine in the 3+ years I owned it, wasn't for the seats/paint I'd still have it.....but would have changed to the 17" wheels....like the '89 on my '72 vette..... |

I've always liked the C4. Not really sure where the hate comes from. My first Vette was an '87 (still have it). The '95 is still the most fun car I have ever driven. A lot of C5 and C6 drivers saw tail lights getting smaller in the distance...
Correction a week later: The track rat was a '96, not a '95. Typo. |

I loved my '93 and my '96 LT4 cars. Reliable and a blast to drive. I really regret selling the Lt4, but the kiddo wanted a Jeep and I was out of room for storage. Now the '84 and the '86 I had gave me heartburn, but they had both been abused before I rescued them..
I will have another C4 some time, preferably a '96 GS. If my Lt4 had been a GS, the kid would still be wanting that blasted Jeep. |

I loved my 86 vert. Fun to drive and it actually got good gas mileage! And yup, you did wear the car, but damn, was that car hard to get in and out of.

always looked and felt like I was having a seizure before a drop and roll exercise. Have had my 84 for 12 years and preventive maintenance has kept it in good operation. Crossfire Injection has been very reliable! |

In getting out, I would swing my legs out first, then use my arms on the frame and push myself out. My problem was the head room - I had none, well maybe 1/4" at best.

My first Vette was a C3. Then four C4's, two auto and two 4+3. Much superior to the C3.
The white Z51, 4+3 '84 model was my second one. I had two others while I had that one but sold them and kept the '84. Still CrossFire, and ran great. It wasn't the fastest car I ever owned but damn that car could handle. Kept it six years. Loved my C4's. I am sure I will own more. I like the C6 too, but not a fan of the C5. |
