I also have my Strombecker slot car set from way back when. It's the one with the Daytona raised bank corner, and my favourite car was the Cheetah, like this one, but of course I had to paint it like a.....Cheetah, spots and all!

I forgot about those! I had a Hobie 24" fiberclass flat deck, and the cool one was a Banzai 27" aluminum, dual kicktail, ACS 651 trucks, and Road Rider 4 wheels. I later added Hobie #6 wheels, and painted the raised letter script on the sidewalls white to give me white letter tires! The boards are one of the few things I actually lost and don't know where they went. Most of my stuff I stored in my parents' attic.

They still sell these in a store up here called Lee Valley Tools, made by the original company. Exactly the same as that. Also in the aviation museum.

I had one of those Ghost Busters toy sets, with the backpacks, cannons, and the little box you threw out and stomped on a plunger and the trap doors sprang open...shit was so cash.

Dad decided he needed to teach me first also,

it went up,

it went nose first

Reminds me of one christmas, I got a kickass huge train set. I was so excited...my dad and my great uncle set it up, took all day...I wanted to play with it so bad.

My dad turned it on, everything seemed to be going great, then something happened, as I recall my great uncle had the idea of attaching the rails to the board with staples, something shorted out, there was smoke....and everything went dead...

its in a box, in the attic...

Judging by this thread, control line aircraft are similar to model trains and boobies...

They're all meant for kids, but it's Dad that ends up playing with them.
