My radical idea of not letting immigrants in who could not be somehow checked out (fingerprints / background check) didn't go over well and I was sidelined to writing policy for my radical views.

Then you should know better. Creating chaos to remove rights is a very basic concept. Freaking fascism 101.

Don't point a finger at edge cases and then come after my firearms.

The criminal act of the illegal entry is constitutionally no different than a citizen who is charged with a criminal act.

It is why the illegal invaders are afforded habeas corpus. I wish it wasn’t so but it is.

Should change the background check law(s) to include illegal entry into the country as a disqualifying reason.

I understand how it works, but I don't have to agree with it.

I believe they are entitled to due process and that's where it should end.

The person that breaks in to your house has the same Constitution providing them rights, but that is allowably set aside when you shoot them.

The same should go for our border.

However, Wu suggested that Congress could clarify the law to explicitly prohibit migrants from possessing firearms.


Mr. Illegal may have the right to own a gun but is still held to the same standards/laws as the rest of us whether we have a permit or not. I then wonder if he is held on or convicted of negligent use of a firearm, would be grounds for deportation?
