Nobody is taking YOUR rights away. Apparently you are struggling with the article's headline.; let me field strip it for you ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS = CRIMINAL FOREIGNERS; they broke the law (US Code Title 18) by not coming through a POE right from the git-go and you want to arm them.

Vietnam-era Army veteran here and have had a concealed weapons permit in nearly every East Coast state since 1974. I don't want ILLEGAL, POSSIBLY CRIMINAL FOREIGNERS who we can't vette to have guns to go along with their Fentanyl and human trafficking or gang activity. I know what goes on at the border having worked with the INS before they became CBP and neutered.

I was hired at the DOJ to prevent people like the Railroad Killer (Ramirez, who entered the US 7 times to kill citizens before being caught) from getting across the border. My radical idea of not letting immigrants in who could not be somehow checked out (fingerprints / background check) didn't go over well and I was sidelined to writing policy for my radical views.
