I don't know man, I mean I've looked at all the possible causes:

Aliens
Sun Spots
Shifts in the magnetic field of the Earth
Subtle underground earthquakes
Unfortunate plankton blooms
Antibiotic resistant strains of Athlete's foot
Poor ass-wiping habits
Proliferation of women breast-feeding in public

The list goes on and on, but I can't find ANY correlation to the phenomenon linked above. I'm truly baffled!
